WE DIE TO LIVE, 1998
They have been swimming with dinosaurs. Primeval shrimps are truly living fossils who have existed all over the globe for 200 millions of years without any change.
Their survival strategy sounds like science fiction: Suspended animation - coming back to live when it´s worthwhile to do so. Their eggs can stay viable for many years, decades, maybe even millennia without any metabolism. Per definition they are dead! Are these survival artists living violations of the rules of evolution?
What switches life on again?

This documentary illustrates the fascinating life strategy of primeval shrimps. Extraordinary macro shooting reveals the amazing blaze of colour of these little creatures. And it is surprising to know how important these animals are for us humans.

In commission for SDR in 1998.
This film has been awarded over a dozen times at international film festivals.

LOST KINGDOM OF THE KINGFISHER?

However, life has changed here dramatically since the river was embarked. How can the kingfisher - a synonym for untouched nature- cope with this situation? The filmmakers have followed the tracks of this shy guy for two years. They managed to document some surprising, thrilling and also sad adventures.
